Things I'm Reading (or have been reading) Lately

Let's see.....

Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo by Obert Skye - It's about a boy named Leven who can command lightning and see the future (which they call fate) and change it. Foo is a magical world that exists in the mind. *** The way he writes is awesome; he's a good writer. The only problem is the storyline....it's not developed enough. Things that happen just don't make sense. I wouldn't waste your time on this.

The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy - Dated during the French Revolution, this book is about a man named the Scarlet Pimpernel who rescues threatened aristocrats in France and brings them to England with the help of some of his colleagues. *** This book is awesome! Her writing is fantastic! The plot is perfectly paced and well planned. It has a lot of action and even some romance. I RECOMMEND THIS!!!!!!

The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini - [It's a series.] A boy named Eragon finds a dragon egg. The dragon that hatches, Saphira, becomes attached to him, and he becomes a Dragon Rider. However the evil tyrant Galbatorix (who was once a Dragon Rider himself) is determined to either recruit Eragon, or Eragon will die. *** I wrote a review on my other blog, my media review one (click here for the review --> x) . Read it if you want an idea about the series. That's my review on the first book. I'm going to start on the second book soon, but who knows. :) The books in the series are (in order) Eragon, Eldest, then Brisingr.

Sisters Grimm by Michael Buckley - [It's a series.] It's about two girls named Daphne and Sabrina who, after their parents' mysterious disappearance, go to live with their estranged grandmother. Once they get there they find that they are descendants of Wilhelm Grimm and that the "fairy-tale" characters he and others wrote about are real and very much alive. For instance, Puck the fairy lives with the Grimms, Sleeping Beauty owns a coffee shop, Snow White is the teacher of a local school and the mayor of the town is Prince Charming. *** These books are very, very interesting. Love the story line! Read these books!

The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart - {That's the name of the series and the first book.} It's about these four special children who are trying to stop an evil man from taking over the world through .... it's hard to explain, you'll have to read the book. *** These books are so cool. The plot is awesome, his writing is awesome, and it captivated me from start to finish. I RECOMMEND THIS!!!!!!!

The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan - [It's a series.] The sequel to Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Percy goes missing and turns up in some Roman camp where all the Greek gods have different personalities and new names. After meeting Mars (the god of war) and almost being killed by monsters, he goes on a quest with his friends to stop the evil Gaea from crushing the gods. *** This book is really interesting - it's funny, has a good storyline, and is action-packed. The only problem is that they will take the Lord's name in vain. :(

That's it for now! I hope you find a lot of good reads. Because there are a lot.

Wow. The only one of these that I haven't read part of is Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo. I might have to pick it up, even though you said not to! ;-)

The Mysterious Benedict Society is awesome Maddie!!!! And so is Eragon. :)

And Grace - you can read it if you want, but I found it kinda boring. The Prologue was good, though.
